Pirate Freedom is a 2007 novel by Gene Wolf. The main protagonist is young Catholic priest, Father Chris. Despite his vocation, Father Chris is not above settling disputes with a fist as proved in his memoirs of a time long past, 300 years ago, in fact, when he was mysteriously transported back to the age of piracy to become Captain Chris, pirate scourge of the Caribbean and the mate of pirate queen, Novia.
