Philip Gordon Wylie (May 12, 1902 – October 25, 1971) was an American author born in Beverly, Massachusetts to Presbyterian minister Edmund Melville Wylie and novelist Edna Edwards. Wylie lost his mother at only five years old and grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. He attended Princeton University.
