Phenomenon is a 1996 film directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by Gerald Di Peggo. John Travolta starred as average Joe, George Malley with Kyra Sedgwick, Forest Whitaker, and Robert Duvall rounding out the talented cast. Phenomenon proved popular at the box office and has grossed over $150 million worldwide. Thomas Newman was responsible for the film's music but the film was most associated with Eric Clapton's hit song If I could Change the World.

Plot

George Malley witnesses a bright light in the sky and later discovers he has developed superior intelligence and telekinetic abilities. He seeks to help those around him but they prove to be fearful of his new talents. He draws the attention of the U.S. govt who prove even more curious about his abilities.
