Peter MacNicol

Peter MacNicol (b, April 10, 1954, Dallas, Texas) is an Emmy Award-winning American actor well remembered for his role as the odd and amusing John Cage on the legal dramedy, Ally McBeal. MacNicol is also a voice artist and has contributed to several animated genre series including Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Justice League, The Batman (TV series)The Batman and Danny Phantom.

MacNicol made his film and genre debut in the 1981 fantasy adventure film, Dragonslayer. He followed up with the Oscar Winning drama Sophie's Choice appearing alongside Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline. In 1989, MacNicol played Dr. Janosz Poha in Ghostbusters II. He has made numerous genre appearances over the years. Among his most notable appearances are Addams Family Values, Roswell: The U.F.O. Cover-Up, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, Baby Geniuses, Stuart Little 3: Call of the Wild , and a voice role as Doctor Octopus in The Spectacular Spider-Man.

2000s TV audiences know him as the eccentric math professor (and space shuttle astronaut) Dr. Larry Fleinhardt on NUMB3RS and morally ambiguous White House Chief of Staff Tom Lennox on Day 6 of 24.
