Peter Gallagher

Peter Killian Gallagher (b. August 19, 1955, New York City, NY) is an American actor. Gallagher may be remembered by fans of the Fox series The O.C. in which he played Sandy Cohen. Genre fans however, know Gallagher in a variety of roles including a 1998 television adaptation of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.

After graduating Byram Hills High School in Armonk, New York, Gallagher attended Tufts University. During the summer, he participated in theater and following his graduation , appeared in a Broadway revival of Hair and later played Danny Zuko in Grease. He made his film debut in The Idolmaker and split his time between stage and screen. He won a Theatre World Award for his work in A Doll's Life and a Clarence Derwent Award in 1984 for his turn in Tom Stoppard's +The Real Thing.

In 1985, Gallagher appeared in Dreamchild, a story about the woman on which Lewis Carroll based his Alice in Wonderland main character. Among his most notable roles are The Hudsucker Proxy, While You Were Sleeping with Sandra Bullock, The Man Who Knew Too Little, American Beauty, Anne Rice's Feast of All Saints. His genre contributions include Host, Superman: The Animated Series, House on Haunted Hill, and The Gathering.
