Peter John DeLuise is an American actor, director, writer and producer. He was born in New York, NY on November 6, 1966 to parents Dom DeLuise and Carol DeLuise. Both his parents are actors as are his older brothers David DeLuise and Michael DeLuise. Both brothers and his father guest-starred on Stargate SG-1 for which Peter writes, directs, and produces.
Acting Career
Peter was introduced to the camera on his father's show, The Dom DeLuise Show in 1968. He began acting at age 13. His first role was in the film Hot Stuff in which both his parents were involved. He guest starred on several TV series including The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes before landing a significant role in the TV series 21 Jump Street as Officer Doug Penhall in 1987.
After his run on 21 Jump Street, he guest starred on the TV series Highlander and Friends. He also played parts in the films Rescue Me and The Shot. He went on to a recurring role as the genetically engineered Dagwood on the series SeaQuest DSV. He has also guest starred on Andromeda, The Outer Limits and 3rd Rock from the Sun as well as several episodes of Stargate SG-1. He has been the voice of the Asgard Kvasir and Loki.
Directing
Peter began directing on 21 Jump Street. His next directing opportunity came on the series Silk Stalkings. He has also directed several episodes of V.I.P., The Outer Limits, Jeremiah and Andromeda. His most significant work has been on the series Stargate SG-1 for which he's directed over 40 episodes. He has also directed several episodes of the series spin-off Stargate Atlantis.
Writing
Peter's screenwriting career began with the movie Between the Sheets. He also starred in the film with his family. His brother, Michael, directed. He has also written several episodes of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.
Producer
Peter was a consulting producer on the series Jeremiah. He is currently the Supervising Producer on Stargate SG-1.
Private Life
Peter married actress Gena Nemo whom he met on 21 Jump Street in December 1988. They divorced in 1992. Peter married actress Anne Marie Loder on June 7, 2002 and the couple has one child, Jake Dominick DeLuise, born April 11, 2004. They live in Vancouver, British Columbia.
