Peter Atkins (b. 1955) was born in Liverpool, England, and now lives in Los Angeles, California, with his wife Dana. A childhood friend of Clive Barker’s, in 1974 he joined Barker’s experimental theater company, which also included Doug Bradley (future horror icon Pinhead). He worked with them for the next six years and was flayed alive in Barker’s short film, The Forbidden. Atkins trod the boards for another half-decade as composer, musician and singer before establishing himself as a novelist and screenwriter. He has published the novels Morningstar (1992) and Big Thunder (1997), and the collection Wishmaster and Other Stories (1999). His short fiction has appeared in the anthologies Best New Horror, Don’t Turn Out the Light, 365 Scary Stories and The Museum of Horrors, and he has been a contributor to Fear, Demons and Deviants, Skull: The Magazine of Dark Fiction, Weird Tales and The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction as well as the non-fiction anthologies The Hellraiser Chronicles, Clive Barker’s Shadows in Eden, Cut! Horror Writers on Horror Film, Pandemonium, The Tiger Garden, Dancing With the Dark and My Favorite Horror Story. He has twice been nominated for the British Fantasy Award and has served as a judge for the World Fantasy Awards. Atkins is perhaps best known for his work in the cinema, where he has authored the screenplays for Hellbound: Hellraiser II, Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth, Hellraiser: Bloodline, Fist of the North Star and Wishmaster. He has also written for television, comic books and the stage.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
