Penelope (2008) is a modern fairytale directed by Mark Palansky and written by Leslie Cavney. Christina Ricci stars as title character, Penelope, a modern-day princess born with a pig snout. Her unfortunate visage is the result of a family curse that can only be broken when she finds love with a prince. Peter Dinklage portrays an underhanded journalist whose interference causes Penelope's parents to fake their deaths, the fallout from which causes a tabloid sensation.
