Paul Naschy (Jacinto Molina Alvarez) (b. September 6, 1934) Spanish actor, screenwriter and director. A weightlifting champion, he began working in movies as an extra until he both scripted and starred in Frankenstein’s Bloody Terror (1967). He recreated his role as the doomed werewolf Waldemar Daninsky in Nights of the Werewolf (1968), Dracula vs. Frankenstein (1969), The Fury of the Wolfman (1970), The Werewolf vs. the Vampire Woman (1970), Dr. Jekyll and the Werewolf (1971), Curse of the Devil (1973); Night of the Howling Beast (1975); The Craving (1980); La Bestia y la Espada Mágica (1983), Lycantropus (1996) and Tomb of the Werewolf (2003). The undisputed King of Spanish Horror, he has also portrayed many other classic monsters, including a romantic Count in Dracula’s Great Love (1972).
