Paul Frees

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Paul Frees (June 22, 1920 Chicago, Illinois - November 2, 1986) was an American voice artist and sometime on-screen actor.

Whether as the authoritative narrator, evil spy (Boris Badenov), or a scat-singing duck (you don't remember Ludwig von Drake's Green with Envy Blues?), Paul Frees was one of the most significant voices in Sci Fi.

From well-regarded movies like The Time Machine (1960) to Saturday morning cartoons (like Morocco Mole on Secret Squirrel) to theme park rides (the Ghost Host at the Haunted Mansion), Frees was in demand in many media and at many studios.

He was also able to imitate voices, which could be used for comic effect (such as his Ronald Colman impression as Ape on George of the Jungle) to filling in voice loops for other actors on movies.

A biography of Paul Frees, "Welcome, Foolish Mortals" was written by Ben Ohmart ISBN 978-1593930042 (click to find sources for this book).
