Patrick MacNee (b. February 6, 1922, London, England, UK) Sophisticated British actor, best known for playing the dapper John Steed in TV’s The Avengers (1960-68) and The New Avengers (1976-77). He has also portrayed Dr. Watson in TV movies opposite both Roger Moore (Sherlock Holmes in New York (1976)) and his old school friend Christopher Lee (Sherlock Holmes The Golden Years (1991)) as the consulting detective. Only limited success as a film actor, in such films as Incense for the Damned (aka Bloodsuckers, 1970), The Howling (1980), The Creature Wasn’t Nice (1981), Waxwork (1988), Lobster Man from Mars (1989), Masque of the Red Death (1989) and Waxwork II Lost in Time (1991), most recently in spoofs of the genre.
