Paranormal Radio Shows

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Overview

Paranormal radio shows are audio only programs that regularly discuss paranormal topics.

The shows may be successful because the radio format is particularly suited to this area. Having an hour or more on one topic, where anonymous guest can call in and relate their experiences, and experts can join from their own homes, ties in well with subjects that are heavy on speculation and analysis, and light on visuals.

Legendary late-night radio host Long John Nebel pioneered the format, talking about UFOs on WOR in the 50s and 60s.

Art Bell has been the most popular of these hosts, at one time leading the ratings.

While shows were originally broadcast over the air, a number of shows take advantage of the new media, using Internet broadcasting and podcasting.
