Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future television series, Overmind was Lord Dread's creation, or monster. It acted as the repository of digitized human beings, using their engrams as food.

Overmind was initially written as a powerful computer, but viewers soon learned that it was much more sentient than initially indicated. One poignant story arc had Overmind assigning Lacki, a robot that acted as assistant to Lord Dread, to begin spying on him.

Lord Dread utilized Overmind for a number of higher functions, including the intent to cross over into the cybernetic world.
