George Orson Welles (b. May 6, 1915 Kenosha, Wisconsin – October 10, 1985) was an Academy Award-winning American director, writer, actor and producer. Welles gained notoriety for his infamous 1938 War of the Worlds Panic Broadcast.
His radio experience served him well as a rich-voiced narrator. Later in his career, he did a few voiceover characters, including in The Transformers: The Movie in 1986.
