The Ood are an alien species from the long running series, Doctor Who. They appear in a popular two-parter in which the episodes are entitled, The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit. They returned in an episode of the 2008 season entitled, Planet of the Ood.

The Ood are a telepathic species, enslaved by humanity at some point in the future. Used to make the lives of humans easier, they were programmed and manipulated into servitude until, with the help of The Doctor, they were freed and allowed to sing once again.
