Only Begotten Daughter is a 1990 novel by James Morrow.

Premise

Julie Katz is the Messiah, the daughter of God. Julie is the daughter of Murray Katz, conceived of his sperm and a holy ovum. Like her half brother, Jesus, who came before her Julie performs miracles, walking on water, healing the blind, and raising the dead. She has a greater role however. She is tempted by the devil and challenged by Christian fundamentalists. Also frustrating is the silence of her mother, God.
