Number Five (portrayed by Matthew Bennett) is a Cylon agent on the series Battlestar Galactica known to human members of the colonial fleet as Aaron Doral. Doral was first seen in the miniseries on board Galactica where he worked as a public relations executive. Doral later sought to undermine Roslin's authority when she took control of the situation on board Colonial One following the Cylon attack by turning to Lee Adama. Lee supported Roslin's decision, nullifying Doral's attempt to make the situation more difficult.
Doral was outed on board the Galactica by Gaius Baltar who, needing a scapegoat, pointed the finger at Doral as a suspect based on an educated guess. Doral was arrested and imprisoned. Doral claimed he was innocent, born on Oasis near Caprica City and grew up in the city before moving to Gemenon to study PR at Kobol College. Despite his proclamations, he was abandoned at the Ragnar Anchorage space station. Shortly after, he began experiencing symptoms similar to those of Leoben Conoy, evidencing that he was, in fact, a Cylon and Baltar had chosen correctly despite merely guessing. Doral was rescued from the station by the other Cylons.
Another Number Five copy reappeared on Galactica as a suicide bomber ("Litmus"). He stole explosives from the munitions locker and detonated it. Yet another Five was seen on Caprica working with Number Six to set up the cross-breeding experiment between Sharon and Helo. Several other copies exist and were seen during the occupation of New Caprica.
Number Five is staunchly anti-human, believing it necessary for humans to die so that their children, the Cylons can come into their own.
