Northern Lights is a 1995 novel by Philip Pullman. The novel is the first in his His Dark Materials series. The novel won the Carnegie Medal for Children's Fiction in 1995.
Synopsis
lyra Belaqua's friend Roger disappears and Lyar and her daemon, Pantalaimon begin a quest to find him that leads them to the North where she discovers scientists are conducting horrifying experiments.
