History

Stargate audiences were first introduced to Nirrti in the episode "Singularity". Though she did not appear in the episode, her ship attacked Jack O'Neill and Teal'c on the planet Hanka where she experimented on the local population in her attempt to create a hok'taur or advanced human. Teal'c related a story in which Nirrti sent an emissary to negotiate peace with Apophis. Nirrti used the opportunity to destroy the stargate using a device implanted within the emissary. Nirrti installed a similar naquadah/potassium bomb within Cassandra and used her as bait to destroy Earth's stargate. Fortunately, her plan failed.

SG-1 first met Nirrti in person when she visited Earth with Cronus and Lord Yu to negotiate with The Asgard to include Earth in the Protected Planets Treaty. During the meeting, she attempted to assassinate Cronus and frame Teal'c for the crime. It was soon revealed that she was responsible for harming him and in possession of technology that made her invisible enabling her to move about undetected. Nirrti was imprisoned by Cronus but when he was killed, she was freed from her captivity.

Nirrti returned once more when Cassandra became ill at age 16. The disease was one all Hankan children got as a result of Nirrti's experiments. Cassandra was drawn to return to Hanka where according to tradition she would go into the forest and return healed. SG-1 returned to Hanka to investigate and found a ring transporter leading them to Nirrti's laboratory. Unable to find a cure, they returned to Earth only to discover Nirrti, rendered invisible by her technology, had returned with them. Dr. Frasier threatened Nirrti's life in order for her to heal Cassandra. In exchange for her help, Nirrti was allowed to go free.

She began her experiments again in the episode "Metamorphosis" on a planet where she claimed to have cured the inhabitants of a deadly plague. Nirrti had discovered Ancient technology in the form of a DNA Resequencer. She used the device on the inhabitants creating horrible mutations in her attempt to create a hok'taur she could use as a host. The device also gave her subjects powers of telekinesis and telepathy. Her subjects kidnapped SG-1 and she used the technology on them.

Her subjects soon discovered SG-1 was right and Nirrti was lying about her intentions. They killed Nirrti and reversed the damage she had done to all their bodies.
