Night at the Museum is a 2006 fantasy comedy directed by Shawn Levy and based on the Milan Trenc children's book, The Night at the Musuem. The screenplay was written by Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. A novelization of the film by Leslie Goldman was released to tie in with the film release. Night at the Museum opened in theaters on December 22, 2006 and went on to earn over $250 million world wide. A second film, Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsonian debuts in 2009.

Plot

Set at the Museum of Natural History in New York City, the film stars Ben Stiller as security guard Larry Daley. Larry soon realizes that during the night the Museum's features come alive.
