Niam is a fictional character on the series Stargate Atlantis. Niam was an Asuran, a race of machines generally referred to as Replicators. Niam was one of a few of his kind who sought to emulate their creators the Lanteans and find a way to ascend to a higher plane.

Niam, and those who believed as he did, reached out to the human visitors from Atlantis for help. They believed that their root programming, which made them capable of intense violence, needed to be rewritten in order for them to move toward their goal.
When the team managed to escape and destroy the Asuran city ship led by Oberoth to attack and destroy Atlantis, they took Niam with them. Rodney had successfully made changes to Niam's base code but Niam's code was never distributed to the other Replicators. They, instead, overwrote his programing causing him to attack the team. Niam was blown into space, but not before several of his nanites infected Dr. Elizabeth Weir.
