New Zealand is a country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean comprised of two large islands and several smaller ones. Its largest city is Auckland and its capital is Wellington.

New Zealand is most notable for its geographic isolation and stunning landscapes. Its impressive geography made it an ideal filming location for Lord of the Rings trilogy, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, Cleopatra 2525 and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Actress Lucy Lawless and director Peter Jackson are both New Zealanders.
