Netu is a small plaentoid/moon that orbits the homeworld of the Goa'uld Sokar. Sokar took on the persona of the devil, and turned Netu into hell. Netu's core is exposed in many places on the surface, making living there impossible. However, beneath the surface, Netu served as a hellish prison for Sokar's enemies. Netu was under the command of Bynarr, a Goa'uld loyal to Sokar, but Apophis killed Bynar and took his place. The Tok'ra used a device to destroy Netu, and Sokar along with it.
