Nathan Stark is a fictional character on the series Eureka portrayed by Ed Quinn. Stark is a Nobel Prize winner who took over from Warren King as the head of Global Dynamics in the series' first season. His return to Eureka was an unexpected shift in the lives of his estranged wife Allison Blake and her admirer, Sheriff Jack Carter. All three are forced to work together and do so exceptionally well but not without conflict and comedic incidents.

As head of GD, Stark oversees the scientific experiments undertaken at the facility including all top secret defense projects. The mystery of deepest personal interest to him as a mysterious artifact found off Earth that has been shown to alter DNA, cause time travel and may have other yet unknown effects. Stark is obsessed with the artifact and his interest occasionally undermines what he knows to be right.

Though science dominates his life and his ambition and determination in that field has undermined his relationship with Allison, he is not without a soft spot or two. His list of favorite people is short and Jack Carter, who clearly has a crush on his wife, and accident prone scientist Douglas Fargo are definitely not on it. Despite their separation and difficulties, Stark still loves Allison. He has also been shown to have had a deep connection with Callister Raynes, a son of sorts, an artificially intelligent young man he attempted to protect by destroying all evidence of his existence and sending him away ("Right as Raynes").

Following an accident with the "artifact", Stark was removed from his position as the head of GD. His post was taken over by Allison. Allison convinced him to stay on and continue his work. The two renewed their relationship and he continued his work with her autistic son, Kevin who has an unusual connection to the artifact.

Season 3

On the day of Nathan's second wedding to Allison, he agreed to assist Carter in stopping a time loop that could prove devastating for Eureka and the world at large. Nathan was killed in the process.
