Nahuelito, Argentina's cousin of the Loch Ness Monster, is an underwater beast that is said to live in the waters of Nahuel Huapi Lake, at the foot of the Patagonian Mountains. Reports of Nahuelito's existence can be traced back to the 19th century.

In more recent times, scores of tourists who have reported sightings have described Nahuelito's appearance in a variety of ways: a giant water snake; a swan with a snake's head; and a brontosauruslike creature with a serpentine neck, a large hump, and a fang-toothed mouth.

While many people believe Nahuelito is a survivor from the Jurassic-Cretaceous period, possibly a descendant of the plesiosaur, others have suggested that the creature is the product of a nuclear experiment gone wrong.
