NBC (for the National Broadcasting Company) is a television network owned by NBC Universal.

A pioneer in radio and television, NBC established the nation's first permanent radio network in 1926, and began experimental TV broadcasts atop the Empire State Building in 1931. In 1939, NBC demonstrated television at the New York World's Fair, and was granted America's first commercial TV station license for WNBT in New York in 1941.
