The Mythopoeic Awards are annual juried awards given by the Mythopoeic Society for fiction in the tradition of the Inklings (J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, and Charles Williams) and for scholarship on Tolkien, Lewis, or Williams and on myth and fantasy.
The awards are given in four categories:
- The Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature is given to a the fantasy novel, multi-volume novel, or single-author story collection for adults.
- The Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature honors books for younger readers (from picture books to young adult novels) "in the tradition of The Hobbit or The Chronicles of Narnia".
- The Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Inklings Studies is given to books that make significant contributions to Inklings scholarship.
- The Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Myth and Fantasy Studies is given to scholarly books on other authors in the Inklings tradition, or to general studies of myth and fantasy.
