Daniel Linderman is a fictional character on the TV series Heroes played by Malcolm McDowell. Linderman was an oft mentioned but unseen character reputed to be a mobster. Linderman is a thread connecting many of the series' characters. He made his first appearance in "Parasite".

Linderman was first mention in the series' premier when he sent his thugs after Niki Sanders to collect on a loan she'd taken out to pay for her son's school. When her alter ego killed them and escaped he sent a corrupt police officer to return her to Las Vegas where he offered her an opportunity to pay off her debt by sleeping with Nathan Petrelli.
Linderman then blackmailed Nathan Petrelli to assure that he could use him should Nathan win the congressional seat. Nathan convinced Linderman to donate four million dollars to his campaign to ensure his win rather than the two million they agreed on.
In the episode "Six Months Ago", it was revealed that Linderman was a business associate of Nathan's father. Nathan decided expose Linderman following his father's death. When returning from Peter's graduation party, he was run off the road by Linderman's thugs. The resulting accident was the cause of his wife Heidi's paralysis.
Linderman proved to be an art collector, with a particular interest in the work of Isaac Mendez. Linderman purchased several of Isaac's paintings including one that predicted Peter's death. On Nathan's request, he returned the painting to Simone Deveaux's gallery and destroyed it to protect his brother.
Linderman is also the owner of a Japanese sword that once belonged to samurai, Takezo Kensai. Hiro Nakamura believes that taking possession of the sword will return his ability to manipulate time.
Linderman arranged for Niki's release from prison. Following this event, Jessica took over and made a deal with Linderman to repay him. Linderman ordered the murder of Aaron Malsky who stole two million from Linderman, very likely the same money stolen by Jessica and later given to Malsky by D.L. to be returned to Linderman.
In "Parasite", Linderman made his first appearance in a meeting with Nathan. Linderman discovered Nathan was working witht he FBI and ordered the deaths of FBI officers surveiling him. Forced to decide between working with Linderman or risking his family, Nathan decided he had to kill him. Linderman made it clear that he was aware of all Nathan's secrets and made him an offer, guaranteeing him a seat in congress and the possibility of the presidency.
Linderman revealed to Nathan his plan to allow part of New York City to be destroyed, resulting in the deaths of .07% of the population. Having grown tired of healing individuals he hoped that the devastation would bring the country together under Nathan's leadership.
Powers History
Linderman has the power to heal living things, people, plants and the like. He first demonstrated this ability as a child, healing his mother of cancer. Unwilling to believe him he became alienated from his family and left home. He joined the army and became a medic and part of an elite team sent to Vietnam in 1968 under the alias Austin. The team was attacked and he used his ability to heal the team leader, Dallas.
They continued with their mission despite being down to two. Dallas forced him to use his talents to heal men he tortured so he could start over. The two aimed to find Au Co and destroy it. They found a farm producing massive vegetables, enhanced by a young girl, Au Co. Austin was against destroying the farm but Dallas insisted it was necessary to save the lives of American soldiers and both the farm and girl were killed. After the incident, he refused to acknowledge his abilities to his superiors causing Dallas to be discharged. He would later apologize to Dallas, and the two joined forces under their real names, Linderman and Petrelli.
