Plot
On their search for the Holy Grail, SG-1 visits Vagonbrei only to find a planet seemingly devoid of any animal life. All the people in the nearby village appear to have died in their sleep. In the village records, they discover references to Morgan le Fay who once lived on the planet. The villagers believed she had cursed them for revealing her location to Arthur. The team soon begins to fall ill with a sleeping sickness and a medical team is rushed in to find a cure for the disease. The source is found to be a parasite that feeds on melatonin.
Teal'c and Mitchell search the local caves for any clues but find nothing useful. Teal'c discovers a lizard creature deep inside the cave and despite having difficulty staying awake, manages to bring it back. The creature's immunity to the parasite is ultimately used to cure the others. The cure is too late to save Doctors Hutchison and Reimer.
On Earth, Vala Mal Doran must undergo psychological evaluation to prove she is suited to join SG-1. She prepares for the test to ensure she gets the "right" answers. Vala eventually grows frustrated with the tests and after Woolsey attempts to recruit her as a spy for the IOA, she demands to be allowed to leave but is informed she has received approval to join SG-1 though her status is probationary.
