Morgan le Fay, also known as Ganos Lal, is an Ancient who lived in the City of Atlantis in the Pegasus Galaxy before her eventual ascension in the Milky Way after fleeing the city. Morgan is the origin of the Arthurian legend of Morgaine/Morgana. In some variations of Arthurian mythology she was an enemy of Merlin and in Stargate Atlantis she has a similar position.

While living in the Pegasus Galaxy, presumably in Atlantis, Ganos Lal created an interactive database program with an image of herself as an avatar. Its purpose was to teach young children. When Atlantis came under siege by the Wraith, Ganos Lal left for Earth. Earth proved a difficult environment with primitive human beings and the Ancients spread out across Earth and the galaxy rather than attempt to rebuild their civilization. Several of them ascended, including Ganos Lal and the Ancient Moros.
After some time as an ascended being, Moros returned to the human plane of existence as Merlin. He began research on a means of destroying ascended beings possibly as a direct result of becoming aware of the Ori. Ganos Lal was sent to observe him and became known as Morgan le Fay, Merlin's rival.
In the episode "Morpheus", SG-1 discovered references to Morgan le Fay when historical documents from Camelot led them to Vagonbrei. The documents on Vagonbrei said Morgan lived in a cave above the village. Arthur's knights visited the village and after they left the villagers came down with a sleeping sickness that eventually killed them and most of the life in the area. Though the villagers believed they'd been cursed by Morgan, SG-1 discovered the illness was due to a parasite that fed on Melatonin.
In "The Pegasus Project" SG-1 visited Atlantis in hopes of finding clues to the location of Merlin's weapon. Daniel Jackson questioned the Ganos Lal avatar but when she gave him exactly the answer he was looking for, he became suspicious. He soon discovered he was not speaking to the interactive avatar but to the real ascended being, Ganos Lal who, after many years, became sympathetic to Merlin's cause.
Ganos Lal admitted to having known Daniel during his time as an ascended being. She was impressed by the fact that he always spoke from his heart. While Ganos appeared to believe that the ascended should do something to stop The Ori, she was on the fence about the ascended rules of non-interference. The Ascended believe interfering on lower plains of existence would make them no better than the Ori. Ganos Lal listened to Daniel's arguments and was swayed by his passionate viewpoint. She gave Daniel the location of the planets Castiana and Sahal. She began to tell him more information, offering a warning that "Merlin's weapon is not...." She was prevented from completing her sentence by the "Others" who pulled her away.
Convinced of Merlin's cause, Ganos Lal sequestered him on an unknown planet. Merline remained in stasis for hundreds of years, until SG-1 completed the quest for the Holy Grail and discovered it existed only in Merlin's mind. Her decision to keep Merlin alive, helped SG-1 find and recreate the Sangraal, leading to the downfall of the Ori.
In Stargate: The Ark of Truth, Morgan secretly aided Daniel when he attempted to find The Ark of Truth to stop the invasion of the Milky Way by followers of the Ori. In addition to distracting Adria, she healed Teal'c when he became injured and encouraged Daniel to keep fighting. When the Ark sufficiently undermined Adria's power, Morgan attacked her, saving the lives of SG-1 and many others.
