Mickey Smith is a fictional character who appeared regularly in seasons 27 and 28 of the British series Doctor Who.

Initially, the somewhat inattentive boyfriend of Rose Tyler, Mickey was not particularly pleased when Rose took off to adventure with the Doctor. Nor did he seem to know quite how to react to a girlfriend who was continuing to string him along while openly flirting with another man. Though he did begin to see other girls during Rose's long absences, he couldn't quite seem to let her go, becoming almost obsessed with tracking the Doctor's comings and goings.

Nevertheless, Mickey was able to grow with experience, going from a mildly selfish individual who was too cowardly to even board the TARDIS to a person who became increasingly helpful in thwarting the Doctor's enemies. At first, he just used his computer skills to help, but by his second season on the show, Mickey not only joined the TARDIS crew, but proved he was strong enough to fight for a worthy cause and had gained enough self respect to walk away from Rose altogether.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
