Michael Praed (April 1, 1960 Gloucestershire, England, UK) is an actor who trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has appeared extensively on British television, starring in such programs as Crown Prosecutor for the BBC. Praed is a stage name; he was born Michael Prince on April 1, 1960 in Berkeley, England.
On television he played Robin Hood in Showtime's Robin of Sherwood, Phileas Fogg in Sci Fi's The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, Jake in Riders, and was a series regular in Dynasty.
On stage, Praed has appeared in London and on Broadway. He starred as D'Artagnan in The Three Musketeers.
In the UK's West End, he starred as Alex in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects of Love, as Frederick in The Pirates of Penzance, as Evan in September Tide, and Otto in Design for Living.
He also has starred in such diverse productions as The Caretaker, The Resistible Rise and Fall of Arturo UI, Carousel and Godspell.
Pread's theatrical films include starring roles in Nightflyers, Son of Darkness, Staggered and This Town.
He is married to Karen Landau and has two children: a son, Gabriel, and a daughter, Frankie.
