Michael Soren Madsen (b. September 25, 1958) is an American actor born in Chicago, Illinois. Madsen is the older brother of actress Virginia Madsen. A versatile actor, Madsen made his acting debut on stageat the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago where he studied under John Malkovich. He made his film debut in Against All Hope, since then he's appeared regular in dramatically different roles. His breakthrough role cam in Quentin Tarrantino's Reservoir Dogs. He became well known for his many turns as a villain but has also made efforts to mix things up playing softer characters like Glen Greenwood in Free Willy and its sequel Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home.
