Michael France (b. 1962, St. Petersburg, Florida) is an American screenwriter who had this breakthrough with the 1991 Sylvester Stallone action thriller, Cliffhanger. France graduated the University of Florida and then attended Columbia University's School Of The Arts.

His second screenplay, GoldenEye revived the Bond franchise. The film starred Pierce Brosnan. France was hired to write the screenplay for a second Bond film, The World is Not Enough. Ultimately, other writers completed the film's script and France's work was uncredited. France moved on to comic based films like 2003's Hulk, The Punisher and Fantastic Four.
