Marvel Comics is a comic book and graphic novel publishing house owned by Marvel Entertainment, Inc. Marvel owns such characters as Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four.
In the 1960s, Marvel became known as a high-concept comic book publisher when it included story lines about its characters' personal lives, including strife, loss of love, and modern social issues.
