Martouf

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Martouf is a fictional character on the series Stargate SG-1 played by JR Bourne. Martouf was a member of the Tok'ra resistance movement and host to the symbiote Lantash. Both host and symbiote were mated to Rosha and her symbiote Jolinar of Malkshur and they spent over one hundred years together.

Spoiler Warning: Plot details and/or information about the ending follow. If you wish to enjoy the work first, stop reading here and return at another time.

Jolinar was pursued by an ashrak, or goa'uld assasin and was forced to take refuge in the body of Samantha Carter. She was ultimately killed by the assassin.

Martouf met Samantha when her memories of Jolinar's life led her to a Tok'ra base. The two grew close due in large part to the bond they shared through Jolinar. There was a definite distance between them however, as Samantha was unsure whether her feelings were her own or remnants of Jolinar's.

Martouf was ultimately killed when Goa'uld mind control transformed him into a za'tarc. The symbiote, Lantash, managed to survive.

Lantash

Lantash, Martouf's symbiote is far more outspoken and passionate in his beliefs than quiet Martouf which creates a certain balance. Following Martouf's death, he was placed in stasis and remained weak. When the Tok'ra base on Revanna came under attack, his stasis container was destroyed and he blended with a young SGC recruit, Lieutenant Elliot in order to save both their lives. Lantash's knowledge helped SG-1 escape but both Lantash and Elliot chose to give their lives in order to release a Tok'ra poison that would kill all symbiotes within range.
