Mark of the Vampire is a 1935 horror film directed by Tod Browning. The film is a remake of the mostly lost 1927 film London After Midnight. The film starred Bela Lugosi as Count Mora, a vampire said to haunt the local village. He is believed to be responsible for the death of Sir Karell Borotyn. Borotyn's daughter Irena may be his next target and a vampire expert, Professor Zelen (Lionel Barrymore) is called in to protect her. Police inspector doubts the claims of Baron Otto and Dr. Doskil that there is anything more mysterious than a common murderer.
