Mario Azzopardi was born in Malta in 1950. He is an actor, writer and director and has been directing film and television since the 1970s. He has worked on several scifi series directing episodes of Highlander, Viper, M.A.N.T.I.S, Sliders and Poltergeist: The Legacy. He also directed the series pilot of Stargate SG-1, "Children of the Gods" and several other episodes of the series and its spin-off Stargate Atlantis. He has also directed episodes of The Outer Limits, Jeremiah and Total Recall 2070 and guest starred in an episode of Highlander.
