Marina Sirtis (b. March 29, 1955, is an English actress born in London, England, to Greek parents. She is best known for her role as Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation and the Star Trek films.

Career

After completing high school, she applied to the Guild Hall School of Music and Drama. After her graduation, she worked in musical theater, repertory and television. In 1986 she moved to Los Angeles. For 6 months she tried to audition for parts, but was unsuccessful. Just as she planned to go back home, she got the part of Counselor Troi.
