Mahershalalhashbaz Ali <span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>  Mahershalalhashbaz Ali is an American actor born Mahershalalhashbaz Gilmore on February 16, 1974 in Oakland, California. He is best known for his role as Richard Tyler on the TV Series The 4400. He attended St. Mary's College in Moraga, California where he was first introduced to acting. He performed for a season with the California Shakespeare Festival shortly after his college graduation. It was his first professional acting job. He then attended New York University where he studied acting and received his Masters degree in acting. His first television role was as Dr. Trey Saunders in the series Crossing Jordan. He guest starred on Haunted, NYPD Blue, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation before landing a recurring role on the short lived series Threat Matrix. He has been a regular on The 4400 since the series premiered in 2004.
