Marion Zimmer Bradley (June 3, 1930 – September 25, 1999) was a prolific writer in the fantasy and science fiction genres. In fannish circles, she is often referred to simply by her initials, MZB.

She is best known among mainstream readers for her fantasy novel, The Mists of Avalon which retold the King Arthur legend from a feminist point of view.

In science fiction fandom, she is best known as the creator of the Darkover series of novels and short stories.
