Luxan

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Luxans are an alien race on the series Farscape. They are known for their skills as warriors and have great strength and endurance fueled by two hearts. They have incredible, strong and agile prehensile tongues that they can use to stun and even render their enemy unconscious. Luxans have long, thick, sensitive tentacles emerging from their heads called tenkas.

When injured, Luxan blood flows black. It must be made to appear translucent before they can heal. Unfortunately the process requires more pain to be inflicted in the area of the wound. Luxans are prone to states of Hyper-Rage, an uncontrollable state of rage and aggression only relieved by extreme violence or time.

Culture

Luxans have a warrior-based culture. They value honor, courage, and loyalty and of course, fighting skills. Family loyalty is particularly important and the pursuit of vengeance is an honorable one.

Many Luxans tatoo their skin. The designs indicate status and military hierarchy. Couples also share matching tattoos when they marry.

The Luxans are genetic relatives of another species known as the Ilanics.

Military

Despite their warrior culture and skill in the design of ships and weapons, the Luxans do not dominate the galaxy. They are not considered a threat to Peacekeeper dominance. In fact, despite Peacekeeper desire to maintain Sebacean racial purity, the Luxans and Peacekeepers allied themselves against the Scarrans. The knowledge that his people would ally with his sworn enemies, angered Ka D'Argo.
