Lost in Space is a 1965 television series created and produced by Irwin Allen. The series aired on CBS for three seasons and starred Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Mark Goddard, Marta Kristen, Bill Mumy, and Angela Cartwright as the Robinson family. In 1997, the Robinsons are selected to visit the third planet in the Alpha Centauri star system an establish a colony that will become a second home for mankind. The family board the Jupiter 2 designed by the family patriarch, Professor John Robinson, and head for their destination. However, an agent, Doctor Zachary Smith, is sent to sabotage the vessel but becomes trapped. His presence causes the vessel to be thrown off course and they become lost in space, struggling to survive and find their way back home.

The series spawned a large group of fans. Particular favorites include Doctor Smith, Will, and the robot (B-9).
