Synopsis

With the knowledge of the Ancients unspooling in his mind, Jack leads SG-1 and Bra'tac to a planet where they hope to find Ancient weapons that can save Earth from Anubis' impending invasion.

Plot

Having downloaded the Ancient database, O'Neill knows he has little time before he loses his grasp on the English language so he is determined to complete a crossword puzzle while he can. But the process has already begun and some of the clues he's filled out are in Ancient. One, Proclarush Taonas Daniel identifies as syllables that comprise a gate address.

They attempt to dial the address years before but believe the gate to be buried. They use the gate system to pinpoint the planet's location and determine it can be reached by ship. However, the SGC's new commander, Dr. Elizabeth Weir informs them they cannot take the Prometheus as it is Earth's only defense against Anubis.

Teal'c and Bra'tac manage to procure an Al'kesh on Chulak as well as the aid of a Jaffa, Ronan who joins them on their mission. O'Neill selects an array of equipment including Hazmat suits to take on their journey though he can't explain the why of his choices.

The team heads for Proclarush Taonas but they are not moving fast enough so O'Neill modifies the engines. Carter informs O'Neill she has been given authority to take command should he lose his ability to communicate. He relinquishes command immediately.

On Earth, Anubis begins his attack after waiting to see what Earth's defenses have to offer. Communications across the planet are taken out and Anubis has made his threats via hologram to president Hayes. Though Kinsey immediately heads for the Stargate to gate to the Alpha site. Hammond is ordered to captain the Prometheus when Hayes orders the ship launched.

The Al'kesh arrives at their location and finds the planet covered in lava. Only single bubble reveals a remnant of a long gone civilization. Bra'tac stays behind with Ronan while Jack, Sam and Daniel ring into the bubble wearing hazmat suits. O'Neill restores a breathable atmosphere and sits in the outpost's control chair. He activates a holographic map and identifies Terra Atlantis on Antarctica on a globe of Earth as it was several million years ago. After his revelation, Jack and the team replace their suits and O'Neill removes a power source from the base of the chair platform.

They request Bra'tac activate the ship's rings but he has been severely wounded by Ronan who proves to be a spy for Anubis. Ronan believes his knife wound to the stomach will slowly kill Bra'tac but Bra'tac reveals he no longer carries a goa'uld symbiote and kills Ronan before activating the rings. Once aboard, O'Neill reveals healing powers, restoring Bra'tac. He then sets to work altering the ship's rings.

At the SGC, Kinsey demands that Weir activate the gate and allow him to evacuate to the Alpha site. However, Anubis dials in and attempts to send through a bomb. However, the Iris proves a good barrier. Kinsey attempts to relieve Weir of command after she suggests the president send the Prometheus to Antarctica to cover the recently arrived SG-1. The president overrides and accepts Kinseys immediate resignation.

Bra'tac and SG-1 arrive in Antaarctica and O'Neill's modifications to the ring transporter begin emitting an energy beam that begins melting the ice. Anubis and his fleet arrives and poises to attack bu the Prometheus and a fleet of F-302 fighters alo arrive to take on Anubis and defend SG-1. Though out matched, their defence gives SG-1 time to ring down to the Antarctic outpost deep beneath the ice.

O'Neill identifies a chamber with the word "dormata" which Daniel translates to mean sleep. In the outpost they discover another chair platform like the one they left behind on proclarush taonas. O'Neill removes the chair's spent power source and replaces it with the one from Proclarush Taonas. He activates the chair and thousands of glowing drones shoot out from the oupost destroying Anubis' Kull Warriors and all Anubis' ships, saving Hammond from the trouble of a suicide mission to destroy the mother ship.

O'Neill is completely exhausted by his actions and with his teams help makes it back to the sleep chamber. Once inside, Jack says goodbye and the chamber activates, freezing him in stasis. Sam is devastated and unwilling to believe that it ends this way. Daniel takes time to note that the outpost is not Atlantis as Jack indicated but another outpost.
