Lost is a 2004 dramatic TV series created by J. J. Abrams, Jeffrey Lieber, and Damon Lindelof for ABC. The series was filmed largely in Hawaii and produced by Touchstone Television and Bad Robot. The first episode aired on September 22, 2004.

The show became a hit and a pop culture phenomenon. After it's first season it was nominated for and won several awards including the 2005 Emmy Award for "Outstanding Drama Series"

Plot

The series follows the lives of a group of survivors of the crash of Oceanic flight 815 traveling from Australia to the United States. The plane crashes on a tropical island in the pacific and a surprising number of people survive. They soon realize the island is not deserted and they are not alone.

Season 1

After the plain crashes, the survivors come together to make decisions and find a way to survive. As the doctor who took charge in the initial moments after the crash Jack becomes their de facto leader. Realizing a search for them will prove unsuccessful as the plane was off course, they try unsuccessfully to communicate with the outside world and come across a French woman, living on the island for sixteen years who warns them about "The Others". Michael and a few others build a raft hoping to leave and find help.

Season 2

45 days after the crash, the survivors conflict with the others. A second group of survivors from the tail section of the plane, are discovered to be living on the other side of the island. The hatch Locke discovered is explored and the Hanso Foundation and DHARMA Initiative is introduced. Michael goes in search of Walt only to return empty handed and more of the survivors lose their lives to the mysteries of the island.

Season 3 opens with Kate, Sawyer, and Jack taken prisoner by The Others.
