Lorne Greene (b. February 12, 1915, – September 1, 1987 ) was a Canadian actor born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Greene played the original version of Commander Adama in the Glen A. Larson version of Battlestar Galactica in the 1970s. He would later reprise his role as Commander Adama in the short lived spin-off series Galactica 1980.
