Loren Coleman

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Loren Coleman (July 12 1947 - ) is an author and field investigator. While best known for his work in cryptozoology, he has written on a variety of fortean topics.

Coleman is perhaps the highest profile cryptozoologist of the early 2000s. He has several books in print, and a typical large bookstore is likely to have at least one. He frequently appears in televised documentaries. He has fully embraced the digital age, having his own website, being quoted by e-news services, contributing regularly to e-mailing lists, and posting a frequent blog.

Another significant element is that Loren Coleman networks with many interested people, from veterans like John A. Keel to newbies. He has collaborated on books with Jerome Clark and Patrick Huyghe.

He may most be associated with Bigfoot, but is also an expert on Mothman, Thunderbirds, erratic crocodilians (crocodiles, alligators, and related species appearing outside their natural ranges), kangaroos seen in the United States, and the possible survival of a prehistoric lion species in North America.

Loren Coleman is the Director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

Outside of the paranormal, Loren Coleman is a sociologist known for his work on suicide clusters.

Note: Loren L. Coleman, an author of science fiction books, is a different person.
