Lord Dread

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Formerly known as Doctor Lyman Taggart, Lord Dread is the leader of the New Order, an attempt to wipe out humanity once and for all.

Before becoming a world tyrant, Taggart was a researcg associate of Doctor Stuart Gordon Power, inventor of the Power Suit and father to Captain Jon Power. Taggart killed Stuart Power in a final struggle.

Lord Dread's distaste for humanity is fueled by his desire to completely cross over into the cybernetic world. He is thwarted by the efforts of small rebel factions and the drive for freedom that Captain Power's team strives for daily.

Commander of an army of biomechs and Biodreads, Lord Dread is relentless in his quest to silence what remains of humanity. Ironically, he also heralds a corps of young proteges in the form of the Dread Youth. He also relies on human overunits - akin to lieutentants - to guide his mechanical forces and further his vision.

Not a simple tyrant, it is known that Lyman Taggart was once in love. It is unclear what transpired to change him. However, there appears to be no sign of him reverting to a kinder, gentler scientist.

Lord Dread was played by David Hemblen [1] on the television series.
