A Lo'tar is a System Lord's must trusted human servant. Lo'tar are usually privy to details on a System Lord's plans that others are not, making them people of interest to both Stargate Command and the Tok'ra. In fact, both the SGC and the Tok'ra have used Lo'tars in the past. Dr. Daniel Jackson pretended to be Lord Yu's Lo'tar to infiltrate a System Lord meeting, and Kanan, the Tok'ra that inhabited Colonel Jack O'Neill for a brief period used Ba'al's Lo'tar to learn Ba'al's battle plans.
