Like a Charm is a 2008 paranormal romance novel by Candace Haven.

Synopsis

After a tragedy at her job working for an Atlanta law firm is followed by a physical breakdown, attorney, Kira Smythe returns to her hometown of Sweet, Texas, an unusual town filled with "special" people with unusual abilities. Kira has never been one of these people but after temporarily moving in with her tofu-loving hippie parents for the sake of her health, odd things begin to happen to her. The dead begin to talk to her, but fortunately, so is new guy in town, Caleb. The two are immediately attracted to each other but Kira is determined to return to her career, despite her doctor's advice and the lure of romance and small town life. Laid off from her job, Kira is not in a career slump. Despite several lucrative offers from other law firms she is in no rush to jump back into her stressful law career. She is being pulled in two directions as the death of a close friend leaves her the heir to the town library and a rather unexpected destiny. Kira must choose between the library and it's incredibly important duties and a lucrative career doing what she's been good at.
